Dreamcatcher: Terror In The Night concepts

Real media concepts for the Terror In The Night husk I did a while back and never posted anywhere but the blog. Felt like posting them now.

Basically, this is a monster that stalks and eats small children so I gave them long arms and claws for striking and grasping, flexible frames to fit into small spaces, but also the ability to stretch parts of themselves to accomodate the complete mass of a child if they devoured them whole. In both versions, the loose flesh around their heads and throats are designed to contract with great force essentially crushing anything that's shoved into it. I intend on revisiting this concept later and possibly doing a larger painting, but I'm not sure yet.

Done with prismacolors and letraset marker on toned paper.
